SPINEMED RESULTS

Last year I was looking at Anterior Cervical fusion (involving three vertebrae), a major surgery, when a friend recommended Dr. Amy Friedman at Fountain Valley Chiropractic. On my first visit, Dr. Amy took a series of x-rays and discussed with me my options that would not require surgery. At the same time while seeing Dr. Amy, I was undergoing a number of doctor visits and pre-surgical evaluations preparing me for cervical fusion. My symptoms involved pain radiating down my left arm into my hand causing numbness. Within a few visits I noticed slight improvement; however, Dr. Amy suggested that I try spinal decompression. She provided me with literature and a DVD to view prior to making a decision. I chose to go forward with a number of sessions involving spinal decompression. Almost immediately I noticed improvement. By my last session I was feeling much improved and came to a decision that I would not have surgery. Two days prior to surgery I notified the surgeon that it was off. Within a very few weeks I was no longer having any pain or numbness in my left arm or hand. My husband, who was quite the skeptic, is now convinced that the treatment provided by Dr. Amy was responsible for my recovery, eliminating any need for surgery.

Sometime during 2000, I started having serious pain in my lower back below the belt line. I could only walk 75 steps before the pain would be unbearable. After several trips to the doctor, an MRI, x-rays, therapy and 8 monthly trips to a pain management doctor, I finally resigned myself that I would just have to live with the pain. Nothing was alleviating the pain I felt.
An aquaintance suggested that I discuss this situation with Dr. Amy at FVChiropractic. I did and started the decompression treatments. I felt that nothing else had worked wo what did I have to lose.
The first few treatments did not seem to change the extent of the pain. Thereafter I started to notice that the degree of the pain was less and less and I could walk approximately 150 steps before the pain would kick in again.
At the end of my treatment I could walk 300 steps wtihout pain and it seems to be getting better and better as time goes by. I can only attribute this to the care given to me by Dr. Amy, best of all it happened without prescribed or over-the counter medication. (To update Bob's case: He can now walk AS FAR AS HE WANTS without ever having the pain he experienced before spinal decompression)

I have been a patient now for over 17 years. I have suffered 2 car accidents and have been flying as a flight attendant for over 16 years. Several times a week I push and pull 150 lb. carts up and down the isles. I deal with bumpy rides as weather is not always in our favor. My most recent injury was in 2002 when I assisted in a medical emergency on the aircraft and had to recessitate a large woman in her late 60's as she stopped breathing.
I hurt my neck and the pain traveled down my shoulderblades and into my lower back. I was off work for several months because of my pain and numbness in my arm. Fountain Valley Chiropractic did a great job through therapy to get me back to work. I struggled with pain on and off as it depended on how much I was flying, gardening, or just dealing with everyday chores.
When Fountain Valley Chiropractic introduced me to the Spinal Decompression table I have to admit I was a little hesitant. Although the office was very thorough in explaining how the machine works, my skepticism still haunted me. As I was a candidate for the procedure I agreed to try. I figured I had nothing to loose and all to gain.
I went in for treatments everyday for 1 full month and it was painless. In fact, I fell asleep a couple of times during my treatments. I am here to tell you that since June of 2006 I have NOT had any pain. I am full movement of my neck and back, I am working out 3-4 times a week, and I only come in for adjustments now and then. This treatment in my eyes is a miracle to my everyday life!
CHIROPRACTIC RESULTS

Approximately 12 years ago, a co-worker recommended her chiropractor to me because I seemed to be carrying the stress in my life in my low back. My health insurance benefits started to offer coverage for chiropractic care about the same time and FVC was on their 'approved' provider list. Lucky me. The 4-6 week regular visits were amazingly successful at keeping my back aligned, preventing the painful periodic seize-ups that had yanked my spine crooked and made me yelp with pain in the past. My sleep improved; my energy level was up; I was a happy, healthy, energetic woman moving rapidly past 'middle-age' without even knowing it.
Moving forward a few years, my first freeway auto accident in almost 50 years of driving was in 2001 and I had 'no serious injuries'. I was the fifth of five cars in this pile-up. Fortunately for me, those injuries that were invisible to everyone else were quite evident to Dr. Amy and she cared for me with loving and aggressive chiropractic care including both spinal manipulation and massage therapy. I survived - and thrived with this hands on care to resume serious walking, hiking, biking, gardening, travel and a host of other interests of mine.
This last year, I was broadsided in my Nissan Sentra by a 6,000 pound stretch limousine that had run a red light going 40-45 mph. This time the injuries were quite evident to everyone. I was black and blue and twisted. I had serious deep-tissue bruises everyplace the seatbelt was near and both legs were swollen and bruised. Fractured sternum and ribs, a lacerated liver, an infected deep gouge on my leg, swollen left foot - and excruciating pain everywhere rounded out the list. It hurt to breathe , yet alone move any part of my body. I wanted nobody to touch me at all - BUT, I remembered Dr. Amy telling me how important it is to get chiropractic care sooner rather than later. After three days in the hospital, I called Dr. Amy mostly because I knew she would care - never expecting her to say “I want to see you tomorrow”. Yikes! I looked pathetic. Every move was a painful effort. Dr. Amy gave me a thorough examination to determine the damage and started gently to straighten out my twisted body with that clever little ‘Activator’ and to heal my horrible bruises with the help of ultrasound. From her and her staff, I got a super dose of encouragement, TLC and the healing touch. Friends who drove me to my appointments were SO impressed with the loving care and by the way Dr. Amy handled my broken body and administered treatment to encourage healing without causing me pain. My medical doctors were pretty amazed when they saw how well I was healing ~ less interested in discussing it when I told them about the great care I was getting from my chiropractor, her massage therapist and the staff. I was badly damaged. Although I have to continue treatment with an orthopedic specialist for severe injuries to my knee, I know I am now on my way to wholeness and I continue treatments with Dr. Amy or her doctors on staff, and with the massage therapist on a regular basis. I don’t even want to think how damaged I would still be without chiropractic care. I am aligned, sleeping well, not constipated, mentally alert and focused. I am once again back to work, water aerobics, beach walks, some gardening, driving my new Subaru and even cleaning the house.
I am extremely blessed to have Dr. Amy Friedman and her staff at Fountain Valley Chiropractic on my health care team. I have confidently referred a 20 year-old Japanese student, who was run over by an SUV while riding her bicycle, and my 82 year-old dear friend who is very picky about her health care to FVC. Thank you Dr. Amy, Dr. Jay, Dr. G, Wes, Sue, Melissa, Sharon, and Jillian. You continue to make a major difference in my life. I don’t deal well with pain and with you in my world, I don’t have to. I am a happy, healthy, energetic woman moving happily toward retirement with amazingly good health ~ and I know it.

Fountain Valley Chiropractic,
Thank you all for the tender loving care you've given me.
Over the years I've had an L4/L5 herniated disc, degenerative bones in my neck, arthroscopic surgery of my right knee, surgery of a fully torn rotator cuff and the latest surgery for a fracture of the T9 vertebra in my back. Not to forget everyone's favorite Rheumatoid arthritis here, there and just about everywhere.
I have tried cortisone injections in my spine, acupuncture everywhere, prolotherapy injections into my spine, physical therapy and the usual pain pills and muscle relaxers prescribed by my medical doctors. I'm off all pain pills and other attempts for relief. Now, I rely on my care at Fountain Valley Chiropractic. I am back to snow skiing, line dancing, playing with my grandchildren, being a better wife for my husband, gardening, and simply living life more like a youthful person again at age 73.
I highly recommend Fountain Valley Chiropractic to everyone.
Thank you all again.

I was injured in a car accident over 20 years ago. It was a head-on collision and I suffered a severe whiplash. Doctors wanted to do back surgery but I refused. I’d been seeing another chiropractor for 8 years. He helped me a lot, but I believed I could get better and not live with daily pain.
I was referred to Dr. G by a co-worker. I started seeing her in May, 2005. Now it’s September. I rarely am in pain, I have a ton more energy and feel great! I had forgotten what it was like to feel more energy and feel good everyday. The staff is awesome, too! Thanks, Dr. G for my new lease on life! I highly recommend F.V. Chiropractic!

These are the things Dr. Amy Friedman has helped me with:
I had horrible right hip pain. I first saw her because I would not be able to walk much longer if something wasn’t done. I no longer have pain in my hip.
My neck and lower back pain are no longer chronic or daily. My right shoulder is much more flexible.
I’ve had Fibromyalgia for many years. Seeing her once per week has significantly reduced my pain level. I didn’t realize how much until I had a flare-up.
I have been able to take less pain medication which was the source of my recurring stomach pain.

“What you cannot see may be harmful to your health”
I hope you and your family are in good health and are enjoying all of the good things life has to offer.
I am writing to share with you a life event that recently happened to me. For years I have suffered with a chronic sinus condition which at times has been debilitating. None of the medications seem to bring any prolonged relief and I am somewhat adverse to be forever taking pills or using sprays.
Seeking a different approach I remembered reading an article stating that relief might be achieved through chiropractic adjustments and having just met a chiropractor through one of my networking groups I went for a consultation. At my first visit x-rays were taken for diagnosis and I watched an informative video tape so I knew what to expect before beginning my therapy. Anticipating relief for my sinus condition I was excited to go to my next appointment ~ boy was I in for a shock!
The x-rays revealed a more severe problem that I was totally unaware of. There was a deteriorating condition in my neck that if left unchecked would have a debilitating impact on my range of motion and flexibility as I got older. The good news is that we discovered it in time and that it has been possible through therapy to halt the deterioration and reverse the condition almost back to normal. You can bet that I’ll be having regular check-ups in the future to make sure things stay on track and that other conditions won’t go undetected.
As frightening as finding out about this condition was I am relieved that it was discovered and that I could still choose to do something about it. Undiscovered, the condition would have become irreversible and resulted in severe physical limitations and discomfort later on in life.
My small decision to seek relief from a professional for my sinuses helped me avoid a larger potential long term disaster.
